Judges rule OK

Traditional politics is being replaced by more experts, more science, and the rule of law.

The legal profession has been increasingly taking on the role of MAKING the law, not just enforcing it, according to a former senior British judge, JONATHAN SUMPTION (Lord Sumption, OBE), who gave a speech on this subject on BBC Radio, when he delivered the prestigious “Reith Lectures” in 2019 (BBC Radio 4, May and June 2019). In his 3rd lecture, he argued that judges – especially those of the EUROPEAN COURT OF HUMAN RIGHTS – have usurped power by expanding the interpretation of human rights law.

Most rules and regulations are made without any input from the average person, and once made those laws can be very difficult for the average person to change.
